Kate and J.J.'s Bayou Club Wedding

At the end of March I photographed a gorgeous wedding at the Bayou Club.  You might remember Kate and J.J. from their engagement shoot at Kate's family ranch, or from one of my more recent posts about the Bahamas!  I've had such a wonderful time getting to know them, and it has been a true honor to document this very special time in their lives.

We had perfect weather for their beautiful outdoor ceremony.  Kate and J.J. chose to marry under a large oak tree, and the reception was tented by SPF.  Kristin McShane with Keely Thone Events did an incredible job making sure everything went off without a hitch (as she and all of their team always do).  Events and Bloom's flowers and decor and Pro/Sound's lighting created the perfect atmosphere, while 31 Films was there to film the weekend.  Sauce brought the house down, with a special guest appearance by groom J.J. and his brother Greg.  The delicious cakes were created by the incredibly talented Susie's Cakes...can you believe that Yankee's Stadium??  Stationary and invitations were by Sicily Eason, and bridesmaid dresses were by Bella Bridesmaids.  Ceremony music was provided by Divisi Strings.

It was an unforgettable weekend to witness and capture.  I hope y'all will enjoy all of the photos below.  I've also included a little time lapse movie from their ceremony that I already posted a month or two ago...check it out if you haven't already.

Thank you, Kate and J.J.!

Beth and Judd's Wedding

Beth and Judd were married at St. Martin's Episcopal Church on January 22, 2011.  The ceremony was followed by a fun reception at the Rice Hotel in the Crystal Ballroom.  Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your beautiful day!

Incendiary-Portraits of Filmakers Joe Bailey and Steve Mims

In March, at Austin's SXSW film festival, filmmakers Steve Mims and Joe Bailey (my brother) premiered a film titled Incendiary: The Willingham Case.  The film premiered at the Paramount Theater on Congress, and opened to a packed house.  It was awesome.  Steve and Joe had been working tirelessly to get the film together, and they did an incredible job.  The film received the Louis Black Lone Star Award, an award given to a Texas-specific film.

The movie focuses on arson investigation, and centers around the arson case of Todd Willingham, who was put to death in 2004 for the death of his three young children in the fire.  Since his conviction and death, advances in arson investigation reveal that much of the evidence used to convict him is not actually reliable evidence of arson.  Willingham maintained his innocence to his death.

Check out the film's website, where you can watch the trailer and read about Steve and Joe, and the press they've received.

Here are some portraits that I took of Steve and Joe for their website.

Kate and J.J.'s Wedding Ceremony

Here is a short movie I made from a series of photos taken during Kate and J.J.'s wedding ceremony this past weekend.  I didn't plan on doing a short movie when I mounted my camera behind the flowers and leaves on top of the Chuppah...but when I took a look at what we captured, it seemed like the obvious thing to do.

So I hope you enjoy this little movie...

Melissa and Matt's Wedding

Melissa and Matt married on October 30, 2010, at the Junior League.  The ceremony was held at Westminster United Methodist Church.

I had so much fun working with Melissa and Matt.  They were both all smiles during the ceremony, finally tying the knot.  Afterwards, they danced with friends and family to the music of one of their favorite bands from college.

Here are some of my favorites from their wedding.

Lauren and Bryan's Wedding

Every once in a while I get the awesome opportunity to work with close family friends of mine.  I always consider it a gift to be able to do this.  It is so much fun to see and photograph people that I've known for most of my life.

So, when Lauren first contacted me, and said she was going to be marrying a Frazier, I was honored and excited they had contacted me.  I've known Bryan and his family for as long as I can remember.

From our engagement session at Minute Maid Park to Lauren's Bridals at Rice University, and through the big day, I had so much fun working with Lauren and Bryan.

One of the highlights of the night was when the Frazier family band took over the stage.  It was awesome!

Here are some of my favorites from the day.  Thanks, Lauren and Bryan, for having me to photograph y'all's wedding day!
